A Strong Team

Uniwasser GmbH is led by Prof. Dr. Robert Jüpner. He has extensive expertise in water management and many years of experience working on a wide variety of technical projects, both domestically and abroad.

Prof. Jüpner has worked as a professor for more than 18 years and currently heads the Program in Hydraulic Engineering and Water Management in the Department of Civil Engineering at the Technical University-Kaiserslautern.

After earning his degree in Hydraulic Engineering at the Technical University-Dresden, in 1993 he completed his doctoral dissertation on coarse sediment transport in watercourses in the Department of Geological Sciences at the Free University of Berlin. Following his doctoral studies, he served as the branch manager of a middle-sized engineering firm in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and worked for several months as a technical assistant at the German Institute for Standardization (DIN) in Berlin before returning to the academic world and research in 1998.

In recent years, Professor Jüpner has focused on the fields of flooding and flood risk management practices. Among other professional activities, he served as the technical dam advisor on the disaster management crew of Stendal county during the major Elbe river floods in 2002, 2006, and 2013. In addition to his various national and international research activities, he also works in expert advisory and consulting capacities.

Professor Jüpner has also worked for several months at the School of Public and Environmental Affairs at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, USA; in the Department of Biomechanical and Environmental Engineering at the Jomo Kenyatta University for Agriculture and Technology in Nairobi, Kenya; as well as in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Namibia in Ongwediva, Namibia.

Currently, he is an active spokesperson of the Special Task Force on Flood-Adapted Planning and Construction for the German Association of Water, Wastewater, and Waste (DWA). 


Dipl.-Ing. Michael Eiden

Michael Eiden graduated 2014 from the University of Kaiserslautern with a degree in Civil engineering. He has been a student assistant for several years at the department of Hydraulic Engineering and Water Management, as well as an intern at the Uniwasser GmbH and the Struktur- und Genehmigungsdirektion Nord.

Since 2014 Mr. Eiden has been a junior scientist at the Uniwasser GmbH and deals with issues of flood risk management, in particular with flood-adapted planning and building. Currently, he is a member of the DWA Working Group HW-4.8 “Hochwasserpass”.

 

M. Sc. Corinna Gall

After completing her Bachelor in Environmental and Earth Sciences at the University of Trier, Corinna Gall graduated in Environmental Planning and Law in 2014 with a Master degree. During her studies, she worked on extreme floods behind flood protection and developed, as part of a pilot project of Rhineland-Palatinate, a flood emergency plan for Kobern-Gondorf at the Moselle.

Since the beginning of 2014, Ms. Gall has been a junior scientist at the Uniwasser GmbH and currently works on projects in the area of flood risk management. Her primary focus is on flood-adapted planning, risk analysis of critical infrastructure and the development of flood action plans for communities.


Dipl.-Ing. Christin Rinnert

Ms. Christin Rinnert successfully completed her Degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Kaiserslautern. During her studies Ms. Rinnert worked as an Assistant scientist in the laboratory for constructive civil engineering and successfully completed a Long-term Internship in Orléans, France in the field of Flood Risk Management. In the year 2014/15 she worked as an intern at Uniwasser GmbH in the context of the Pilot Project „Extremhochwasser hinter Hochwasserschutzanlagen“in Bobenheim-Roxheim on behalf of the Rhineland-Palatinate Ministry of Environment. Ms. Rinnert based her Degree thesis on dealing with critical infrastructures during flood events at a municipal level.

Since September 2016 Miss Rinnert has been working as a Scientific Assistant at Uniwasser GmbH . She is involved with actual projects in the area of Flood Risk Management.

Brigitte Kolbe

Since 2013 Brigitte Kolbe has been employed in the Uniwasser GmbH as a technical assistant. There she is primarily responsible for the office organization and accounting. In addition, she handles the logistical preparations for the conferences and training events organized by the Uniwasser GmbH.
